HALO Prescription Management Services is committed to the right to privacy and the protection of personal information in accordance with the new privacy laws.
This Privacy Policy outlines and describes how we manage personal information, the sort of information we hold and why, as well as how that information is collected, held, used, and disclosed.

Why do we collect personal information?
If an individual is acquiring a product or service from HALO Prescription Management Services, we will collect and hold their personal information to;

  • Provide the required service.
  • Administer and manager those services including charging, billing and collecting debts.
  • Conduct appropriate checks for credit worthiness.
  • Maintain and develop our business services and relationships.

If you are a patient, for legal reasons when you provide a prescription from your doctor or when you request us to provide you with a particular medicine, we need to collect personal information for the purpose of dispensing your prescription or providing you with the medicines. We are required by law to disclose this information to government regulatory bodies (ie under Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme) if the medicine is subsidised by the Commonwealth Government only. We will retain this information for the purposes of managing our relationship with you in the future which may include providing you with information about managing your health condition, if you consent.

Furthermore, when you purchase products and service from HALO Prescription Management Services you may provide us with personal information. For example, we collect personal information about you if you request a home delivery, make a lay-by purchase or if you order products by telephone. We do not disclose this information for any purpose other than providing you with the products and services that you requested.

Periodically we may use information collected from our dispensary to conduct market research, however all information is de-identified and your privacy will be completely protected. We never identify your personal information to third party marketing agencies.

  • Other information as appropriate.

Storing personal information
All personal information is electronically stored in an encrypted dispensary database. The security of personal information is important to us and we take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse or loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. We do this by;

  • Requiring all staff to protect patient confidentiality at all times during verbal and non-verbal communication.
  • Providing a private area for personal interactions.
  • Restricting internet access to all dispensing terminals to key personnel.
  • Access control measures into the pharmacy premises.

Accessing your personal information
You have the right to access your personal information, subject to any exceptions allowable by law. Individuals need to write a letter or send an email to;
